This double page spread is taken from ‘NME’ magazine featuring Lily
Allen. This article is split into four columns, organised at the bottom half
of the double page spread. There is a large heading which is in the form of a
pull quote. The heading is very eye catching, it used bold white text with a
black outline, which looks like it is in the style of a newspaper article.
There is a subheading placed above the article itself giving an insight into
what may be featured in the article. The heading is slightly layering over
the image which is placed on the right page, overlapping onto the left page.
The colour scheme is mainly black, white and red, the red being mainly from
the main image of Lily Allen, allowing the image to stand out more.

There is one main image on this double page spread, similar to the
double page spread from ‘Q’ magazine. The image itself appears to almost be
jumping out of the page due to the angel that has been used; it is a mid-shot
however the model is slightly bent over appearing to be looking up slightly.

The article describes how Lily Allen acted inside her own home when an
interviewer is present. There is a few
expletives used in the article to demonstrate the language that Lily Allen
used. The article font differs from the font used for the heading and sub
heading. There are also illustrations used next to the heading. The tone of
the article seems to be very informal and light hearted. Page numbers are
also used in order to navigate smoothly throughout the magazine.

Jen, you have deconstructed three double page spreads, making reference to layout, images and lanyuage, with some use of key terminology. It would be worthwhile to add a paragraph summarising your research into DPS and indicating how this might have affected your design considerations for your main task double page spread.
