Double Page Spread

 

Layout	This is a double page spread taken from the magazine ‘q’ featuring Lady Gaga.  This double page spread is presented with the image covering the left side of the page and the text on the right in three columns. They are organised running down the full of the right side of the page.  There are certain bold letters which stand out in the text columns, making the article seem more appealing and intriguing. There is no masthead to this double page spread, only a small heading which states the artists name ‘Lady Gaga.’ Layered over the text is a large ‘L’ which may be relating to the actual story itself.   The colour scheme is constant on this page, the image itself if in a sepia tone and the background to this double page spread is a much washed out white, making the image being the main part of the double page spread and standing out. The text is written in small black font, and also is the heading of the artist. The only colour on this page is the large ‘l’ which is placed over the text.
Images	The photograph which is covering the left page is of lady gaga and has been edited in a sepia tone. Lady Gaga’s outfit is very revealing and as she is only wearing black chains around her neck, which fits into the colour scheme of the magazine. The image is very intriguing, having a rather wild and eccentric vibe, the way the artists hair is styled and the dark eye makeup makes the image look very professional and eye catching.  The double page spread is very text led as it only includes one main photo  of Lady Gaga.
Languages	The font of this magazine is very contextual, it is a simple black font which is used for the main article. There are certain bold letters which stand out which are presented in the same font as the heading. The article discusses Lady Gaga’s successful previous albums. There are quotations used making the article much more interesting , there are also a few slang words used, for example ‘bloke’ when discussing Gaga’s sexuality.
